If there is any paint left in the property, then a paint chip would have to be sent to a laboratory to determine in there is any lead in that paint. This is usually done when someone is conducting a total gut rehab on the property. You can receive a lead free certificate on only the interior dwelling, interior common areas, the exterior, or any combination.
